Newton SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND CAREGIVERS OF THOSE WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS online until further noticeNewton SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND CAREGIVERS OF THOSE WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS online until further notice
July 14, 2020 –
Please read carefully: we hope that you are staying strong and healthy amidst the unique and extraordinary challenges of COVID-19. We missed seeing you everyone in March, but on the day of the meeting we were notified that Newton Wellesley Hospital could no longer offer the rooms to outside groups during the pandemic.
However, we will be holding our meetings on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm over Zoom.
While our Family Support Groups are traditionally "drop in" by nature, NAMI has put in place some extra steps to register for these upcoming virtual support groups. These steps are being taken in order to protect everyone's confidentiality, and also out of an abundance of caution, since we will be meeting remotely. We will need to ask:
This information is needed only by the facilitators, and will not be shared.
We ask that you email this information to Nancy when you RSVP at firstname.lastname@example.org, and send any questions you have as well. We will ask for your exact location (home address, parking lot of grocery) at the time you are entering the call for safety reasons. Ordinarily we would be able to call for help if there were a medical crisis, but this meeting is not face to face.
We will email details of the Zoom meeting once you are registered. Please do not share the link I will send to you with anyone. If another family member would like to join, please have a registration filled out for that person as well. We want to make this meeting confidential for all.
Thank you for your understanding.
